This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information about you when you use the SupaChef mobile application (the “App” or “Service”). SupaChef is designed to help you discover, create, and learn cooking recipes through an interactive, game-based experience. We are committed to being transparent about our data practices and giving you control over your personal information. By using SupaChef, you agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use our Service.

Account Information When you create a SupaChef account, we collect:

• Authentication information from third-party login services (Google ID or Apple ID, depending on your chosen login method)
• Your chosen login credentials

Recipe Content When you create and store private recipes, we collect:

• Recipe images and videos you upload

Search and Usage Data

• Local Storage: Detailed search history is stored only on your mobile device to improve your personal search experience
• Anonymized Data: We collect anonymized and aggregated search terms that cannot be used to identify you individually. This helps us improve search results for all users based on similarity patterns and interests

Recipe Viewing Data

• We collect anonymized and aggregated data about recipe views (both public and private recipes) that cannot be used to re-identify individual users
• This information helps us improve search results and recommendations based on similarity patterns and user interests

Game Performance Data

• Performance data from our interactive cooking tutorials
• Crash reports and technical diagnostics
• This data is collected without the ability to re-identify individual users

Device and Technical Information

• Device type, operating system, and mobile app version
• IP address and general location information (country/region level)
• App usage statistics and crash reports
• Technical logs necessary for app functionality and security

Optional Data Linking

Explicit Opt-In Feature SupaChef includes an optional setting in your Account preferences that allows you to choose whether we can link your search, viewership, and usage data to your user ID.

• Default Setting: This feature is OFF by default
• Your Choice: You must explicitly opt-in to enable this feature
• If You Opt-Out: We will not tie search, viewership, and usage data to your user ID
• If You Opt-In: We will tie search, viewership, and usage data to your user ID to provide more personalized recommendations

Exceptions: Regardless of your opt-in choice, we may link data to your user ID when required by law or when investigating malicious activity, abuse of the service, or hacking attempts. This will only be done when there is a legitimate reason to do so, and we will take all reasonable steps to protect your privacy and to notify you, provided your contact information is available.

Service Availability and Security Priority As a new app with limited staff, we reserve the right to shut down backend services at any time if necessary to protect user privacy and security. In such cases:

• Privacy and security of user data is our top priority, even over user convenience

• Warning: Deleting recipes, images, videos, or your account is permanent and cannot be undone

• You can opt-in or opt-out of data linking in your Account settings at any time
• This choice affects whether your usage data is tied to your user ID for personalization

Data Access and Portability

• You can request access to the personal information we hold about you
• You can request a copy of your data in a portable format
• Caveats:
  • Please note that we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling such requests
  • We will respond to your request within 60 days
  • We may charge a reasonable fee for excessive or repetitive requests
  • We may refuse requests that are manifestly unfounded or excessive
  • We may refuse requests that would compromise the privacy of others or violate legal obligations
  • We may refuse requests that are not required by law or regulation
  • We may refuse requests that are not feasible to fulfill

Marketing Communications

• We currently do not send marketing communications
• If we introduce marketing features in the future, you will have the right to opt-out

Account Information: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period after account deletion for backup and legal purposes Recipe Content: Retained until you delete individual recipes or your account Usage Data: Anonymized usage data may be retained indefinitely for service improvement Support Communications: Retained for a reasonable period to provide ongoing support and improve our services

International Data Transfers

SupaChef is currently available only in Canada. Your personal information is processed and stored within Canada or in countries with adequate data protection standards. If we expand our service internationally in the future, we will update this policy and implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

Children’s Privacy

SupaChef is intended for users aged 13 and older. Users between 13 and 18 years old must have parental consent to use our Service. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.
